Course Overview
The IV Cannulation course provides healthcare professionals with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively perform peripheral intravenous (IV) cannulation. Participants will learn patient assessment, vein selection, infection prevention, aseptic technique, catheter insertion, securement, and post-procedure care. The course also covers the prevention, recognition, and management of common complications, including infiltration, phlebitis, hematoma, and infection. Through hands-on practice and evidence-based instruction, learners develop the confidence and competence to establish and maintain safe intravenous access while delivering high-quality patient care in a variety of clinical settings.
